The Sickla premises began as a heavily industrial area at the turn of the twentieth century. Several famous Swedish industrial and textile brands began their lives there. With over 160 shops and 2,600 parking spaces, the lack of navigation and visual communication on the premises left businesses, clients and consumers struggling to find their desired destination. Safety was another issue that had to be addressed.

With over 160 shops and 2,600 parking spaces, the lack of navigation and visual communication on the premises left businesses, clients and consumers struggling to find their desired destination. Safety was another issue that had to be addressed.
The user journey was analyzed and a comprehensive navigation system for pedestrians, cars and streets was developed. Light was used to promote safety and awareness of the building and mall entrances. A 45-meter-long and 7-meter-high lit wallpaper was also installed as a nod to their heritage and to invite customers to a safer environment. The new navigation system around the area and the branded buildings were highly successful, improving both safety and the customer experience. Sickla Köpkvarter has been named “best shopping center of the year.
